I selalu juga bloghop tengok blog2 jahitan omputeh ni. Blog diorang ni best2 dan very inspiring.

Ramai makcik-makcik saleh ni yang jahit guna pattern Ottobre Design magazine.

Ottobre adalah majalah pattern dari Finland. Published by Studio Tuumat Oy. Dikeluarkan dalam bahasa Finnish, Swedish, Dutch, German dan English.

Ada dua jenis: Ottobre Kids Fashion untuk kanak-kanak dan Ottobre Women untuk wanita.

Harga memang mahal sebab European magazine. Tapi I tetap tergedik-gedik juga nak beli majalah ni.

Walaupun mahal tapi agak berbaloi sebab dalam 1 isu ada lebih kurang 35-40 designs. 

  Ni yang I beli. Issue Summer 3/2009 dan Summer 3/2006. English Edition. 

I tak reti Finnish, German, Swedish atau Dutch.

Yup. Design2 ini pertu ditekap dulu atas kertas lain.Kalau guna pattern envelope macam Simplicity tu boleh gunting terus.

Tapi takpe, cuti hujung minggu ni I akan menghabiskan kudrat I untuk menekap design2 ni.

Three Tiered

3-tiered skirt hijau untuk Safiya and 4-tiered untuk Az-zahra yang suka merajuk tapi baik hati.

Az-zahra (5 y.o.)dan Nuril (2+ y.o.) ni sepupu Safiya, anak my only sister yang tinggal di KK. Pandai posing dua beradik ni.

Last Friday diorang dah nak balik KK. Sampai LCCT nak check in, rupanya flight KL-KK 5.30pm dah retimed ke 8.15. Dah la bawak kereta laju gila takut lambat.Dapat SMS notification regarding the delay pulak dah pukul 5.15pm. grrrr..:(

Nasib baik dapat E-Gift Voucher AirAsia as compensation for the flight delay. RM200 per person. Hoorey, Az-Zahra dan Nuril boleh datang KL lagi bulan May nanti.

Acu will prepare lots of skirts, dressess, etc for both of you, for the photoshoot session ok.Tak nak kawan dengan Safiya sebab Safiya tak nak posing untuk mama. Tsk..

My Little Fabregas

He loves to play with Tinger.

"Dah hensem pakai jersi Arsenal (favourite team ayah) pegi la main bola.Ni main Tinger kakak pulak." marah Safiya.

"Mama, buatlah satu untuk Emir." rayu Emir dengan manja. Dah la bulu mata lentik.Memang tergoda.

"Ok." mama balas dalam nada malas.

"Yeay! Emir suka!"

*dialog Emir hanyalah rekaan sebab baru 7 bulan mana pandai cakap lagi :)

The Tunic of Not Enough Fabric

Can you spot the not?

I stubbornly wanted to cut the sleeve on the bias even though I knew that the fabric will be insufficient.

Luckily I had the same material, which is cotton voile, for the bust area. The colour wasn't really well coordinated. No?

Cotton Voile agak jarang dan saya tak suka sexy. Jadi, saya lapik dengan tudung bawal yang saya dah tak nak pakai :P

Pincushion

Saya mengaku selama ni memang tak pernah ada 'betul-betul' punya pincushion. Maksud saya pincushion yang memang khas untuk pin/jarum. Bukan benda yang fungsinya bukan untuk dicucuk jarum tapi telah saya cucuk jarum untuk dijadikan pincushion sebab saya tak ada pincushion, contohnya macam ni..

Soft toy anak saya yang disumbat ke dalam empty spool.

Jadi, bila Puan Organiser  meminta supaya kami membuat pincushion, kesinambungan daripada Stash Swap haritu, ini adalah kali pertama saya membuat pincushion ~ Pincushion Buah Epal dan Kucing Diva

Tapi ianya bukan untuk saya pun. Ini semua adalah untuk pincushion swap partner saya-Anasfadilah.

Tapi takpe, saya dah dapat mini bolster pincushion yang sangat comel dari Jaja. Ada vintage coaster dan pins juga.yay..yay..saya suka! Thanks Jaja.

Oh ya, in case Gaban tertanya tanya dari kain manakah datangnya pincushion ini, ianya dari fabrik ini.

Top and Pants

Haih.. tak habis-habis lagi dengan fabrik epal ni...

Disebabkan suka sangat sebab dah pandai buat dress yang senang + ada kain lebih, saya buatlah top ni. Menggunakan pattern Simplicity 3511, iaitu sama dengan dress haritu cuma view yang berbeza dan ada ubah sikit-sikit(e.g: instead of gathered, i use box pleat), inilah hasilnya..

Kain bercorak epal ni saya beli 1 meter sahaja. Jadi bila dah buat dress haritu, tinggal baki ngam-ngam untuk yoke..

..dan band untuk kaki seluar..

..dan applique yang comel eh comot sebab jahitan tak kemas T_T

Panties For A Girl

 My Little Miss Sunshine was lacking in the undies department. So, I made handmade panties for her.

The most important thing is, it must be very comfortable for a child.  I used cotton knit fabric and lined with fleece at the crotch area. I used fold over elastic to bind the raw edges.

These are just a simple panties as i did not add any embellishments. You may want to add laces or ribbons on them.

Simplicity 3511: Toddler Dress

I made this dress a couple of weeks ago and only managed to blog about it today. A new dress for Safiya and she likes this dress so much because it has beautiful apple prints.

I chose this pattern because it has the 'power word': EASY -TO-SEW

The Pattern: Simplicity 3511 - View A

Description: Toddler Dress, Top and Pants

Fabric: Cotton with beautiful apple prints. Loved this fabric when i first saw it at Kak Haida's blog.

Size: 1/2 - 4. I made size 4 for 3 y.o. Safiya. The shoulder is quite wide for her, but Safiya will grow so it's ok.

Changes made: Instead of using 2 buttons at the yoke back, I used 3. That's the only adjustment I made as I decided to follow the pattern and instructions closely.

This yoke only completed after long two hours..what an amateur! Anyhow, quite proud with my no-sewing-class-attended-only-depends-on-passion-for-sewing skills.

Sewing buttonholes can be a bit scary. I never get my buttonhole placements marked right.

Lots of topstitching to create the professional look.

The dress looks very sweet on Safiya. Now I'm looking forward to sew another dress or top for her. Sewing this easy dress makes me want to sew more. I hope to have more time to sew.
