Jom Jahit cum Refashion

hari sabtu haritu i sibuk memunggah baju-baju lama suami.

DH: cari apa tu?

me: long sleeve shirt. yang banyak-banyak haritu kat mana ya?

DH: dah bagi kat i*d*n & b*ng*a kat (construction)site.

me:  ye ke..*sedih*(dlm hati: patut la kalau keluar outing semua hensem berlong sleeve bagai, pastu lepak tepi sungai kelang haha)

ok fine.

dah takde baju kemeja suami nak dikerjakan.

tapi nak jugak baju kemeja lama sebab nak buat macam ni. 

masa nak join Jom Jahit memang dah terbayang nak buat baju tu.

terpaksa cari alternatif lain.

ha..dah jumpa..

baju sendiri.

ok tipu, sebenarnya baju kakak tapi telah dirembat oleh adiknya. pastu mengaku baju sendiri :P

lama dah baju ni, circa 1993-1996 zaman sekolah menengah.

tapi i tak 100% ikut design Dana Made It: the shirt dress tu.

saja la nak ubah sikit2. Tapi idea asal dari dia lah.

Safiya suka lah kalau mama cakap nak jahit untuk dia.

mula la pilih butang nak attach kat baju..

ha..dah siap..ok tak?

bahagian depan tu sebenarnya bahagian belakang baju asal.

so, untuk baju Safiya ni, butangnya kat bahagian belakang. memang maintain butang, macam baju asal.

i tambah ribbon poppy kat bahagian depan. pastu letak butang butterfly yang safiya pilih :)

 sekarang, masa untuk bergaya.. (with new hair do)

 

heh..good mood pulak model kecik ni bila disuruh pakai baju untuk photoshoot.

ni mesti suka sebab dah pilih butang tadi :)

mama loves you both!

kesian safiya..si kucing gemuk dah outshine dia..

Pinwheel Flowers Embroidery

Pinwheel Flowers merupakan sulaman bunga yang paling saya suka.

Ianya comel, cepat dan agak mudah jika dibandingkan dengan Bullion Rose.

Tapi jika anda dah terror seperti Kak Haida atau Nuhaz, Bullion Rose sebenarnya mudah saja :)

Pinwheel flowers ini saya sulam pada baju putih/beige Safiya yang kosong.

Tanpa apa-apa corak atau embellishments, baju ini nampak sungguh bosan :(

Menggunakan 3 warna benang, 2 jarum peniti dan teknik sulaman French Knot dan Lazy Daisy, anda juga boleh belajar sulaman tangan ini berpandukan tutorial berikut :

1. Jarum peniti dicucuk membentuk pangkah seperti berikut. Jangan terlalu lebar ye.

2. Cucuk benang dari arah dalam ke luar dan lilit keempat-empat penjuru seperti berikut.

3. Benang dililit dalam 3 lilitan dan apabila sampai di tempat permulaan benang tadi, cucuk jarum di bahagian luar lingkaran tersebut.

4. Keluarkan kembali jarum ke bahagian dalam lingkaran seperti gambar yang ditunjukkan.

5. Kemudian cucuk kembali ke bahagian luar lingkaran.

6. Kini anda boleh dapati, lingkaran benang telah diikat. Ulangi proses 4 dan 5 untuk tiga pinpoint yang lain.

7.Kesemua empat pinpoint telah diikat dan anda boleh keluarkan jarum peniti.

8. Hiasi bulatan di tengah dengan sulaman French Knot, menggunakan warna benang yang berbeza.

9. Tambahkan helaian daun dengan menggunakan sulaman Lazy Daisy/ Detached Chain.

10. Pinwheel Flower dijahit di sekeliling bahagian neckline baju.

Selain bahagian neckline, anda juga boleh menyerikan bahagian lengan atau hujung baju.

Perrghh... tajuk memang takbleyblah punya gempakks.

Macam gila glamer pon ada.

Tapi tak..tak..hakikatnya i ni pemalu weii..
Rasa cam nak benam muka dalam timbunan kain-kain yang belum lipat jahit tu pun ada.

Harini i jadi glamer dengan Dj Epoi. harini je..

Terkejut tengok muka besaq gedabak dalam paper..
dah tak leh camo dengan spek mata besaq dah hehe...

Nasib baik online version tak paparkan muka besaq I..
kalo tak habih kain dalam kotak kena sepah
sebab nak benam badan sekali..teheeee

ouwhh..sedih tengok gambaq ni rupa i macam auntie.
padahal kalo face-to-face i masih muda remaja (uwekk sila muntah)
tak sedar diri umoq dah 3-series weiii..

My Sewing Corner..revealed..

So here we are..

Hmm..things look quite good from this angle. The rest of the room? - better not to disclosed them yet lol..nanti tengok pening kepala haha.. Sewing corner ni pun baru set up aje. Sebelum ni, saya bekerja dari ruang makan.

I feel really comfortable here. My sewing room has to be children-friendly.While I sew, my kiddos can play or golek-golek on a king-sized mattress just in the next corner.

You can see my sewing machine and serger. On the left, there is my ironing board. A plastic drawer holds my sewing stuff. I also have an inspiration board right in front of the sewing machine.

I do my cutting on the floor or on the dining table. My fabrics are kept in a container that stacked on a wooden rack just right behind the black swivel chair.

Next project, i want to upholstered the chair to match the ironing board colour. Don't know when..too many projects in the pipelines...

Is Your Jar Full?

A full jar of colourfull buttons, that is.

Btw, hope you can take a minute to read this. A very good story on time management.

Is Your Jar Full?

One day, an expert in time management was speaking to a group of business students and, to drive home a point, used an illustration those students will never forget.

As he stood in front of the group of high-powered overachievers he said, "Okay, time for a quiz" and he pulled out a one-gallon, wide-mouth mason jar and set it on the table in front of him. He also produced about a dozen fist-sized rocks and carefully placed them, one at a time, into the jar.

When the jar was filled to the top and no more rocks would fit inside, he asked, "Is this jar full?" Everyone in the class yelled, "Yes." The time management expert replied, "Really?" He reached under the table and pulled out a bucket of gravel. He dumped some gravel in and shook the jar causing pieces of gravel to work themselves down into the spaces between the big rocks.

He then asked the group once more, "Is the jar full?" By this time the class was on to him. "Probably not," one of them answered. "Good!" he replied. He reached under the table and brought out a bucket of sand. He started dumping the sand in the jar and it went into all of the spaces left between the rocks and the gravel.

Once more he asked the question, "Is this jar full?" "No!" the class shouted. Once again he said, "Good." Then he grabbed a pitcher of water and began to pour it in until the jar was filled to the brim.

Then he looked at the class and asked, "What is the point of this illustration?" One eager beaver raised his hand and said, "The point is, no matter how full your schedule is, if you try really hard you can always fit some more things in it!"

"No," the speaker replied, "that's not the point.

The truth this illustration teaches us is: If you don't put the big rocks in first, you'll never get them in at all."

What are the 'big rocks' in your life, time with your loved ones, your faith, your education, your dreams, a worthy cause, teaching or mentoring others?

Remember to put these big rocks in first or you'll never get them in at all. So, tonight, or in the morning, when you are reflecting on this short story, ask yourself this question: What are the 'big rocks' in my life? Then, put those in your jar first .

loveee my giant buttons :)

a patchwork of cribbed ideas

Tajuk entry yang tak ada kena mengena dengan entry ni kecuali perkataan "patchwork" tu. Tak kira, nak letak jugak.

Dah lama tak buat patchwork.

So, pada suatu hari yang tenang (tanpa gangguan dari anak2 ), saya keluarkan tiga pembantu patchwork saya -->rotary cutter, rotary mat & ruler dari beg giant saya tu.
 Kalau tak ada benda2 ni pun boleh jugak tapi agak lambat la kerja saya.

Lepas tu saya potong kain jadi bentuk segitiga banyak2 dan sedaya upaya cantumkan segitiga2 tersebut dengan seam betul-betul 1/4 inci.

Masa sambungkan segitiga tu saya dah tak potong benang dah, jahit terus aje. Save time..

The rest is history.

Alhamdulillah, dah siap table runner yang dah lama nak buat.

Nota: Jika ada fabrik yang saya malas nak jahit, saya framekan aje.
Macam kat atas ni -->fabrik dari Ikea yang dah selamat jadi wall deco :)

Ottobre's Summer Pants

The pattern is actually for baby girl's summer pants, but i made this pants for my boy, Emir.

The pants have roomy leg and patch pockets.

  Eventually, it is my girl Safiya who wear it. and it became 3/4 pants, lol

.

Doodles

I made plans to sew.

All these plans are for January the first quarter of 2010.

 

 

  

Hope all garments will turn out much,much,much better than my drawings.
