easy-to-sew Simplicity 3557

I've got the itch to sew… for myself. Just because I’ve own the black manny now. It helps me feel that I’m a professional sewer heheww..

I bet most of u already know that I have quite a number of sewing patterns (the envelope type) that I’ve purchased last year through Lynn of SpinningSpool Shoppe, and none of them were transformed into reality eventho I have tons of sewing planned for myself .

Yeah, I like to dream big when I purchased all the patterns. Unfortunately, I have limited time, lack of energy and enthusiasm to sew for myself.

Looking at my black manny makes me feeling revitalized and I’m sewing for myself with much gusto.

I used Simplicity 3557 - View D but i made a lot of variations to it. I omitted the ties and shorten the length. And it's not a dress anymore because of these variations. It's more of a blouse now. I just love the empire-waist and princess-seams design. It's really easy-to-sew indeed. Not having a zipper makes it even easier!

However, it is not really comfortable as it's a bit tight around the armscye area. Should make it bigger, if I were to sew it again in the future. Oh, the bottom of the blouse also sangat kembang.

For some reason, I am obsessed in making my own clothes, more,more and more. Or..maybe I should complete my unfinished baju raya first-lah.

Nonetheless, this is my second piece. But still, i forgot to adjust the sleeve/armscye area* sigh*

I selalu juga bloghop tengok blog2 jahitan omputeh ni. Blog diorang ni best2 dan very inspiring.

Ramai makcik-makcik saleh ni yang jahit guna pattern Ottobre Design magazine.

Ottobre adalah majalah pattern dari Finland. Published by Studio Tuumat Oy. Dikeluarkan dalam bahasa Finnish, Swedish, Dutch, German dan English.

Ada dua jenis: Ottobre Kids Fashion untuk kanak-kanak dan Ottobre Women untuk wanita.

Harga memang mahal sebab European magazine. Tapi I tetap tergedik-gedik juga nak beli majalah ni.

Walaupun mahal tapi agak berbaloi sebab dalam 1 isu ada lebih kurang 35-40 designs. 

  Ni yang I beli. Issue Summer 3/2009 dan Summer 3/2006. English Edition. 

I tak reti Finnish, German, Swedish atau Dutch.

Yup. Design2 ini pertu ditekap dulu atas kertas lain.Kalau guna pattern envelope macam Simplicity tu boleh gunting terus.

Tapi takpe, cuti hujung minggu ni I akan menghabiskan kudrat I untuk menekap design2 ni.

Simplicity 3511: Toddler Dress

I made this dress a couple of weeks ago and only managed to blog about it today. A new dress for Safiya and she likes this dress so much because it has beautiful apple prints.

I chose this pattern because it has the 'power word': EASY -TO-SEW

The Pattern: Simplicity 3511 - View A

Description: Toddler Dress, Top and Pants

Fabric: Cotton with beautiful apple prints. Loved this fabric when i first saw it at Kak Haida's blog.

Size: 1/2 - 4. I made size 4 for 3 y.o. Safiya. The shoulder is quite wide for her, but Safiya will grow so it's ok.

Changes made: Instead of using 2 buttons at the yoke back, I used 3. That's the only adjustment I made as I decided to follow the pattern and instructions closely.

This yoke only completed after long two hours..what an amateur! Anyhow, quite proud with my no-sewing-class-attended-only-depends-on-passion-for-sewing skills.

Sewing buttonholes can be a bit scary. I never get my buttonhole placements marked right.

Lots of topstitching to create the professional look.

The dress looks very sweet on Safiya. Now I'm looking forward to sew another dress or top for her. Sewing this easy dress makes me want to sew more. I hope to have more time to sew.

Assalamualaikum.

I have bought lots of sewing patterns and fabrics from Spinningspool-shoppe recently. I was intoxicated by all the beaufiful fabrics from this shop. C’mon peeps let's buy from here, the service is superb, I must say.

However, I have to admit that it is more fun to think of the various fabrics and what garment I could make with them than to actually make it! huhu..

The ‘tokey kedai’ , Lynn suggested that I should start my sewing blog soonest possible, in order to motivate me to sew. Thanks babe for inspiring me.. So, here begins my blogging journey!

Tadi jengok kedai ni ada new fabrics lagi.. haishhh..my hand feel so itchy to buy more laa…I just love stashing up! Who doesn't? Lalallala....

Ops! tak habis lagi...this is the best part. Lynn, without fail, akan selitkan gifts in every parcel.Best kan?! Just look at those cute buttons that i received..i got ribbons too, but MsButtercup dah bawak larii...katanya..dia punya..
